A Movement Designed to Fail

A Movement Designed to Fail

Why was the 1960’s civil rights movement a failure? There is a difference between two things being equally valuable vs. being totally equal. Black people in America were marching and sitting in and doing some more marching and more sitting in…turning cheeks and getting slapped and turning other cheeks and getting slapped again while marching some more..They would get beat up here and there and then march some more. Water hoses, Billy-clubs and German police dogs were familiar during the 1960-1970’s civil rights struggle. Whites only counters, colored only drinking fountains, segregated department stores, overtly racist laws, etc..…of course America needed civil rights as the world did. During this era freedom was ringing the ears of resistance from Algiers to the Congo to South America to Southeast Asia global humanity was calling for equality and corporate accountability. The non violent movement was met with federal government intervention, support and direction while this same government used violence and terror to eradicate many other civil rights movements of the day. Non violence can only be an effective weapon of resistance if there is an economic threat involved to provide leverage and therfore instigate a shift in power. In the 60‘s bus boycotts became this prerequisite economic threat for change. This cry for freedom, equality and civil rights was pacified by the shiny illusions of integration and the systematic façade of freedom. Very similar methods of pacification can be found during the reconstruction era where grandiose ideas of equality and freedom were strategically dangled in order to galvanize the post civil war southern districts, stabilize government authority, disguise corporate agenda and control civil unrest. Once the new world was back in order the rights, positions and value of the free blacks who took government office in the South during the reconstruction era were cast aside. The concern over civil rights was suppressed for the next hundred years. The fear of anti-capitalists, race relations and the indoctrination of American imperialism at home and abroad remains prevalent in American society today. The propagandized red scare swept through the western world in efforts to keep communism from threatening capitalism’s social ethic stronghold in America’s British Empire. Whenever corporate capitalism is the foundation of society, imperialism soon follows. They remain hand in hand rationalizations that instigate global policing and foreign invasion. For the record, I understand communism as just being a more overt form of government control, so this isn’t a communist vs capitalist debate. This irony brings to mind a few lines in one of my first poems: “I am definitely not equal to that white man that can so viciously enslave another’s soul. I am definitely not equal to...

Building in Poisonous Quicksand

Building in Poisonous Quicksand

How much change can occur from working within a corrupt system? Who and what do you give your energy towards every day? These are basic questions we all should ask in this global society today. If foreigners from a Northern neighborhood were paid by some mafia styled cartel family (16th centuryEurope corporations) to come to your Southern neighborhood (Africa, India, Americas, Asia) specifically to murder, rape and enslave all your family, confiscate your valuables, designate all “Natives” of this Southern neighborhood as inferior soulless chattel and forced everyone within your neighborhood to provide free or at best cheap labor for the sole purpose of  building their Northern transcontinental corporatized criminal empire upon your Southern foundation; using your indigenous resources… Then let’s say you knew they forced your great grandfathers by gun point to reveal the secrets of agriculture (Thanksgiving myth) before they were put to slaughter as the women and children of your Southern neighborhood were burned alive as examples of their religious zeal, superiority (manifest destiny) and symbolic savage contempt towards the natural world (possibly stemming from their long history of seclusion and isolation as well as famine and barren land)..If you knew these facts to be true would you willingly embrace its systems of laws, religion or culture? Possibly, but what if you also were informed that these blood sucking pirates (15thcentury -20th century European corporate bloodlines) who came and enslaved your family, plundered your land and murdered your grandfathers also were incapable of maintaining a just and prosperous empire in their own Northern neighborhoods? What if you were taught that these Northern invader’s own treachery, immaturity and lack of natural resources were the driving forces behind their delusional sense of justified expansion (imperialism) and this is what drove them to enslave you, your family and the rest of your southern neighborhood? Would you then still mimic their customs, embrace what they deem “holy” or celebrate their triumphs as “history” and “holidays”?…maybe if you were shell shocked or just plain insane..maybe. What if you really knew these same inept “colonizers” and war mongering self proclaiming civilizers bequeathed a set of “laws” (based on maritime pirate ethic), religious interpretation, subjective standard of intellect and beauty down to their indoctrinated offspring, who later declared your enslaved & exploited Southern neighborhood a “free Christian nation? Would you really believe they had any grasp of morality, spirituality or were even remotely civilized? (Root word civil). Wouldn’t you at least accept that the insanity of this corporate takeover has thoroughly corrupted your neighborhood??! At the very least acknowledge the corruption. What if you knew this “revolt” from the crown they exclaim to be the American Revolutionary War was instigated much like the protestant reformation revolt and was done in...

African features vs Barbie beauty standards

African features vs Barbie beauty standards

A recent article posted by the infamous Satoshi Kanazawa on psychologytoday.com attempted to suggest that African (Black) women are supposedly “less attractive” because of certain biological factors. His follow up article then went even further to postulate that higher levels of beauty relate to higher levels of intelligence.  A series of polls and questionnaires were formulated and presented as substantial evidence to support both blatantly racist claims. Before I could post my reply and comments concerning the absurdity of the article it was taken down. I guess they didn’t realize that you can’t get away with that b.s in the information age. They must have received some pressurized feedback from the so called “unattractive” mothers of the world. The second article describing the direct link between beauty and intelligence was so blatantly flawed and inappropriate that it didn’t even warrant a comment. Below are my thoughts concerning this “study” and the overall subject: The assumption that Black woman are generally deemed less attractive compared to other racial phenotypes solely because of their genetic makeup is very racist, ignorant and in many ways very criminal minded. The word eugenics and the name Darwin filled the air as I read both of Kanazawa’s propaganda articles. Yet these are the overt and covert messages that trickle down to our youth daily. When we look at India, China, Japan and of course Africa we see the effects of white supremacy in the form of color caste systems, white washed histories and blatant racist propaganda. There is no surprise when you have really digested the matrix we are in and the color coded chess game being played every second. It is our responsibility not only to bring accountability to misinformation but more importantly bring clarity to all who may be misled by its trickery. Using subjective social surveys & questionnaires to determine a genetic based thesis dooms its results and taints its message. This lack of in-depth analysis by Dr. Kanazawa leads me to believe that the direction and intent of his articles are beyond innocent ignorance. Statements like Africans having more “genetic mutations” and African women having more testosterone as being the cause of the dramatic difference between who and what races are deemed more attractive is scientifically misleading and just plain biologically inaccurate. In order for one to even seriously approach such a complex issue one must obviously take into account what factors have created our present standards of beauty and how this “standard” has shifted over time. The reoccurring changes in the standards of beauty prove to be direct reflections of the values found in the dominant cultures of the time frame examined. To put it bluntly, those in power dictate “beauty”. Kanazawa’s half...
